Bringing a baby home is a big transition — and it’s completely normal to have questions.

Your Questions, Answered
-
A postpartum doula provides hands-on, non-medical support after your baby arrives — helping you rest, recover, and feel more confident caring for your newborn.
At Goodnight Bloom, this often includes overnight newborn care, feeding support, soothing your baby, light nursery organization, and answering the questions that come up in those early weeks.
-
A birth doula supports you during pregnancy and labor — helping you feel prepared, informed, and supported during your birth experience.
A postpartum doula supports you once you’re home with your baby — helping with recovery, newborn care, feeding, and adjusting to life as a new family.

Support breastfeeding, pumping, or bottle feeding
Wash bottles and pump parts

Offer gentle guidance and reassurance
Our goal is simple: help the night feel calmer, more supported, and less overwhelming.

That said, many families reach out after baby arrives — and we’re always happy to help if we have the availability.
Having a team of doulas helps us have a lot more flexibility for last minute inquiries.

Yes and no. All 3 terms are used interchangeably, but there are differences.
Night Nurse is a term that is used broadly, but we want to make sure that we are only calling ourselves a Night Nurse if we have an R.N.
Night Nanny is also another term we see used a lot. The difference between a Night Nanny and a Night Doula is that the nanny is baby focused 100% while doulas are focused on taking care of mama, which often includes baby care at night, but not solely.
